Securing The Handlebars

For Air Products

🔩 Stem Bolt Information & Installation Guide

There are four stem bolts — two on each side of your scooter’s steerer tube — which securely hold the stem and, in turn, the handlebar in place. These bolts must be correctly installed for safe riding.

🧴 Thread-lock / Patch-lock Application

If the stem bolts are removed and refitted, a small amount of medium-strength Thread-lock or Patch-lock must be applied everytime.

✅ Recommended Products:

  • Loctite 243 (Thread-lock)

  • Loctite 248 (Patch-lock)

The new stem bolts supplied with your scooter already have this applied, as well as replacement bolts which are available by contacting our Customer Service team.

🔧 Fitting the Stem Bolts

They should be tightened to 2mm, which is effectively hand-tight, using:

  • a 3mm Hex Key (included with your new purchase), or

  • a Hex Drive

🔄 Tightening Sequence

Tighten the bolts in a cross-pattern to ensure equal torque on both sides. For example, if looking at the steerer tube tighten the bolts in the following order:

  1. 🔧 Top Left

  2. 🔧 Bottom Right

  3. 🔧 Bottom Left

  4. 🔧 Top Right

This helps keep the stem aligned and secure.
