Error Codes (Repair Required)

If your scooter displays one of the following error codes, please do not attempt to repair it yourself. These issues require inspection and repair by a Pure Electric technician.

Fault Description

What It Means

E1

Brake Error

Communication fault between the brake lever and control unit (VCU). May also affect regenerative braking.

🚫 Do not ride. Needs investigation by a Pure repair centre.

F1

Brake Fault

Brake lever not returning to the ‘off’ position. If code persists after restart, indicates a sensor or cable issue.

🚫 Do not ride. Send to Pure for diagnosis and repair.

E2

Throttle Error

Throttle communication issue between throttle and control unit (VCU).

⚠️ Requires repair centre attention.

F2

Throttle Fault

Throttle not recognised as released at start-up. If not cleared after restart, indicates internal sensor failure.

🚫 Do not ride. Contact Pure for repair.

E4

Motor Overcurrent

Motor drawing excessive power due to internal short or connection damage. Scooter will shut down.

⚡ Requires motor and wiring inspection by Pure technicians.

E6

Battery Overvoltage

Battery voltage too high (e.g. following long downhill regenerative braking). If persistent, could indicate MCU or charger fault.

🔧 If the code doesn’t clear, Pure must inspect the scooter.

E7

Motor Hall Sensor Error

Motor sensor failure or damaged motor cable. Causes jerky or noisy motor performance.

🛠️ Repair centre to test and replace affected component.

E9/E11

Motor Controller Over Temperature

Controller temperature exceeded 105°C due to fault or sustained strain. If frequent, hardware issue.

🧊 Allow to cool. If recurring, service required.

E13

Battery Communication Error

Scooter unable to communicate with battery; may appear to charge but won’t power on.

🔋 Likely MCU or battery fault — service required.

🔧 How To Get Support

If your scooter shows one of the above codes:

  1. Turn the scooter off and do not ride it again.

  2. Take a photo or short video of the display showing the error code.

  3. Proceed to the below form, ensuring to supply a copy of the proof of purchase (showing date and model purchased) and serial number to ensure quick processing. (If any issues locating the serial number please see article: Where Can I find my Serial Number?)
