How to care for your electric scooter during long-term storage

When you're not using your electric scooter for an extended period, itโ€™s important to look after its battery and overall condition. Hereโ€™s how to keep it in top shape while it rests!

๐Ÿ”‹ 1. Charge the Battery Before Storage

Make sure the battery is fully charged before storing the scooter.
A full battery is less likely to degrade over time compared to a partially charged one.

๐ŸŒก๏ธ 2. Store in a Cool, Dry Place

Choose a cool, dry location away from:
โ˜€๏ธ Direct sunlight
๐Ÿ”ฅ High temperatures
โ„๏ธ Extreme cold
Heat accelerates battery and component wear.

๐Ÿ” 3. Check the Battery Level Regularly

Every so often, check the battery level:

  • Recharge if it drops too low

  • Avoid storing the battery at very low or very high charge levels
Lithium-ion batteries stay healthiest in the mid-range.

๐Ÿ”Œ 4. Disconnect the Battery (If Possible)

If storing the scooter for a long period, consider disconnecting the battery to prevent slow power drainโ€”even when the scooter is off.

๐Ÿ› ๏ธ 5. Perform Regular Maintenance

Even in storage, give your scooter some love:

  • Check tyre pressure

  • Lubricate moving parts

  • Inspect components for any signs of wear or damage

๐Ÿ“˜ 6. Follow Manufacturer Guidelines

Always refer to the manufacturer's instructions for long-term storage. Different models may have specific recommendations.
